Senator Rosemary Brown joined the senior class at Animal Welfare Society of Monroe County to volunteer with them. 70th Annual Special Needs Fishing Derby The purpose of the student-led initiative is simple yet powerful to give back to the community that has supported these students throughout their academic journey. "We're doing a bunch of things to just help out with all of the volunteer services. So some of us are cleaning beddings, some people are interacting with the animals, and a lot of the time we're just helping to clean up to keep it more organized and safe environment for the animals as much as we can," explained Chance Cortes, President, FBLA, region 21.

Police investigating robbery in downtown Wilkes-Barre They say a man and a group of people with him damaged a car on Tuesday at Camelback Lodge in Tannersville. A total of 1,086 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania during three commencement exercises on May 9 and May 10. Graduate students will be honored on Friday, May 9 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students will be held on Saturday, May 10. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Health Sciences and College of Business and Management) and at 1:45 p.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. Fall 2024 graduates, whose degrees were conferred in December, and August 2025 graduates, whose degrees will be conferred upon course completion this summer, are invited to participate in the ceremony and included in this list along with Spring 2025 graduates.

Mini-Thon continues to be one of the biggest events in the Stroudsburg Area School District. This year, the students were able to reach new heights with 422 participants raising a grand total of $102,020.98. Stroudsburg surpassed last year’s total of $90,801.05! Each year, the theme of Mini-Thon is different from the last. Everyone looks forward to the big reveal of the new T-shirt design and color scheme. The tradition has become a student favorite. Last year’s hibiscus design was tough to beat. This year’s theme was unexpected but fitting — a superhero theme.  The classic color scheme complemented the superhero theme and was the perfect fit, given the “superhero” efforts made to break the $100,000 goal.
