Tree Cutting Bids The Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors at the Township Municipal Building, 271 Route 715, Brodheadsville, Pa 18322, will receive sealed bids until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, and will open bids on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:15 am and possibly award bids at the regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 7:00 pm for the following: Select cutting, pruning and chipping of trees and low growth (brush) on various Township roads. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 9:00 am.

A recent discussion at the Pleasant Valley School Board meeting has brought attention to Monroe County’s acceptance of the FY 23-24 Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Grant. The grant, which covers the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027, amounts to $695,286 and was approved and signed by all Monroe County Commissioners, June 2024. However, concerned citizens have raised questions regarding certain provisions tied to the funding.

The East Stroudsburg University campus community is rallying behind a student’s effort to raise funding for muscular dystrophy that was inspired by her bond with a nine-year-old boy battling the condition.

One of Stroudsburg’s elementary schools has reached an outstanding milestone: its 100-year anniversary! 

B.F. Morey Elementary school, located on West Main Street across from the high school, has been a place of creativity, learning, and acceptance for many students. The school was built in 1925, in honor of Benjamin Franklin Morey, and originally contained eight classrooms from kindergarten through sixth grade.
