A total of $15,962 was raised in the fight against cancer as East Stroudsburg University and the American Cancer Society teamed up to host its annual Relay for Life on Friday, April 4.
The six-hour event brought hundreds of students and community supporters together inside Koehler Fieldhouse from 6 p.m. to midnight to celebrate survivors, recognize caregivers and honor lives lost to cancer.
Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) is expanding its work-based learning initiative, thanks to new funding to further connect universities and employers and provide students with real-world, hands-on learning experiences.
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded the PASSHE Foundation a $350,000 grant for a three-year investment in work-based learning at Commonwealth, East Stroudsburg and Slippery Rock universities.
East Stroudsburg University’s Student Activity Association, in conjunction with the Student Government Association, hosted their annual Student Organization Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 6. Myanmar, a country in Southeast Asia, surrounded by Thailand, China, and Bangladesh, was hit with a 7.7 magnitude earthquake on the morning of March 28th, 2025.
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake is extremely high, with the highest on record being a 9.5 in Chile. According to the New York Times, the Myanmar earthquake was followed by a 6.7 aftershock 11 minutes later.
