Hamilton Township

Hamilton Township is a township of the second class and is governed by a 3 person Board of Supervisors who are elected to six-year terms. The board is responsible for all Township policies and legislation that govern this community. Part of its job is to appoint members to the Planning Commission, the Zoning Hearing Board, and to make other appointments as it deems necessary. The population of Hamilton Township is approximately 9,083. The Township covers approximately 38.5 square miles with 81.1 miles of Township roads and 59.5 miles of state roads. 

It's home to Cherry Valley Vineyards and the Appalachian Trail, offering scenic beauty and outdoor adventures.

Short-term rentals are not allowed in Hamilton Township. Any property in a designated “A” zoning area is strictly prohibited from rentals. Use of C-1 zoning (commercial) property for short-term rentals should apply for an approved use as a hotel/motel which requires a variance granted by the zoning board.

psychology research forum

The psychology department at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania hosted the 53rd Biannual Research Forum at the end of the spring semester. The Research Forum was started over 25 years ago by Sussie Eshun, Ph.D., professor of psychology, and Richard Wesp, Ph.D., retired distinguished professor of psychology, as a venue to showcase the outstanding student research being done in the psychology department.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local cafeteria worker could be fired after she's accused of taping the mouths of school students. The Stroudsburg Area School District says its employee is responsible for neglecting children in this and other instances in past years.

Stroudsburg school district board directors provided a notice of termination to Hamilton Elementary School lunch monitor Dorothy Lanza.

The notice indicates Lanza did not meet an acceptable standard of care in protecting students' safety.
