CHESTNUTHILL TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police said in a report Monday that an employee of a lab company is accused of stealing around $500,000 of funds for her personal use after a receipt was found in the bathroom.
According to PSP, troopers were called to investigate at Prosser Laboratories after the owner said a Staples receipt was found in the company's employee restroom.

After a review of the company's credit card statements, police stated large purchases and cash advances were made without the authorization of the owner, totaling around $500,000.
Through further investigation, the bookkeeper of the company, Sabrina Roman, 46, of Effort, was questioned since she was the only person responsible for the password to financial accounts and was in charge of monthly expenses related to the company, as stated in the affidavit.
Roman was interviewed, where she claimed the small purchases were accidental, and when the owner didn't catch on, it opened the door for Roman to continue buying gift cards and other personal expenses, including paying her bills and a vacation cruise, according to court documents.
Roman has been charged with theft, identity theft, and other related offenses.
