PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Zoning Hearing Board of Jackson Township has scheduled a Public Hearing at the Jackson Township Municipal Building, 2162 Route 715, Reeders, Monroe County, Pennsylvania 18352 on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. for consideration of the following, to wit: A hearing on the application of Thomas White for a variance that would permit the installation of a temporary fence eight (8) feet in height for agricultural use on his property located at 541 Bartonsville Woods Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 (Property Identification Number 08636100108364). The property is owned by Thomas White and is located in the R-1 Residential District of the Township. Copies of the application may be examined without charge or obtained for a charge not greater than the actual cost of reproduction thereof at the Jackson Township Municipal Building, Reeders, Pennsylvania, during regular business hours.

SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP MONROE COUNTY, PA NOTICE OF ORDINANCE ADDING NOISE AND NUISANCE CONCERNS TO THE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES AND PUBLIC MEETING TO VOTE ON SUCH ORDINANCE At a regular monthly meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Smithfield, Monroe County, Pennsylvania to be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Township Municipal Building, 1155 Red Fox Road, East Stroudsburg, PA, the Township Supervisors will consider and vote on whether or not to adopt proposed Ordinance No. 248 which is an ordinance that will establish a Part Two (2)-Noise and Nuisances section to Chapter Ten (10)-Health and Safety of the Township Code of Ordinances. Said Ordinance contains several comprehensive Definitions, recites its Applicability to All Properties within the Township (and motor vehicles are to be included), establishes Noise Control Officers and their authority to enforce the Ordinance.

ESU Holds Out of the Box Event for Gifted Elementary School Students

ESU Saturday Gifted Institute

On Saturday, April 13, East Stroudsburg University welcomed more than 45 gifted students from local and regional school districts to the Saturday Gifted Institute. ESU students taking Instructional Planning in Special Education (SPED 215) created a day of hands-on learning for elementary and middle school aged children (grades 2-8.)

This semester, the pre-service students created “Out of the Box” lessons involving the Great Barrier Reef and its protection; Shark Tank, featuring real world problems; Root Words, through Bananagrams; Regional Attributes; Volcanoes; and Structural Building.
