STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are searching for four suspects after a pickup truck was stolen Saturday night.

According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, around 11:00 p.m. a red 2005 Chevrolet 1500 extended cab pickup truck with a "Keystone Auto" front license plate and two "FC Pocono" soccer club magnets on the tailgate was stolen.

Police say the car was taken from behind a business on North 9th Street in Stroudsburg near Main Street by four suspects who were wearing dark clothing, masks, and gloves.

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — State police announced DUI checkpoints will be placed across various roadways in Pennsylvania for Memorial Day weekend.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, sobriety checkpoints and roving patrols aim to deter drinking and driving. Police say they are operating with a “zero-tolerance enforcement policy.”

Police say checkpoints and roving patrols will be placed on roadways for Memorial Day weekend from May 24-27 that are experiencing high rates of DUI-related traffic violations and DUI-related crashes.

This semester, 18 East Stroudsburg University students in the Innovation & Product Development class focused their coursework on Malta as a global leader in tourism. The class was taught by Carol A. Dimopoulos, Ed.D., assistant professor of business management. Michelle Buttigieg, Malta Tourism Authority Representative North America, was a special mentor for this course. On May 1, H.E. Ambassador Vanessa Frazier, Malta’s Permanent Representative to the UN hosted and welcomed the students to the Maltese Embassy, where they made their final presentations.
