Fall Fest at Camelback

Girls’ Soccer dominates Dieruff on Senior Night
On Saturday, Stroudsburg destroyed Dieruff 8-0 during the girls’ senior night.
The Mountaineers had six different players score goals, including three seniors. Amelia Nieman, ’25, showed out scoring two goals and having an assist to add to that. Savannah Hlavac, ’25, and Abby Grella, ’25, contributed to the game in a big way also scoring a goal each.
Kali Milonas, ’27, also scored 2 goals. Leah McWilliams, ’27, and Lila Smedley, ’26, both pushed across a goal as well.
The defense was also outstanding, standing their ground all game and having their fifth shutout of the season. They only allowed 2 shots throughout the 80-minute contest. Goalie Sia Trotter, ’27, and Karly Evans, ’28, both picked up a save.
This game pushes the girls’ record to 5-6-1 on the season. They are looking to improve on this record tomorrow against Emmaus at home.

Prestigious Internship Helps ESU Senior Find Fulfillment on Capitol Hill
As an intern this summer on Capitol Hill, senior political science major Richermy Batista found herself at the epicenter of American politics, where she applied the academic skillset she gained at East Stroudsburg University to further her passion for public service.
Batista, a first-generation college student born in the Dominican Republic, was one of 30 students nationwide selected for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s (CHCI) 2024 Summer Congressional Interns program. The program’s goal is to give Latino college students opportunities to explore the inner workings of the federal government while preparing them to enter the workforce as future leaders.
