VFW Post 509 will be hosting Oktoberfest this Friday, October 11, 2024 from 3:30pm-6:30pm at the Post located at 1917 Goodwin Street, Tobyhanna, PA 18466. Meals include your choice or Schnitzel or Bratwurst, German Potato Salad or Spaetzle (Homemade Noodles), Red Cabbage and Hunters Gravy- Mushrooms. The applicant appeals the action of the Zoning Officer, the denial of a zoning permit application by letter dated 12/15/23, and seeks a de minimus dimensional variance and relief from section 031-040 and Table 130-30A of the Township Zoning Ordinance. The applicant appeals the action of the Zoning Officer, the issuance of Zoning Permit Z-2024-225 issued on September 9, 2024 for the installation of a new 24’ x 24’ residential accessory structure on the subject property. All persons having an interest in this matter are invited to attend and make their views known at this time.

Sen. Rosemary Brown is inviting residents of the 40th Senatorial District to showcase their photography skills and capture the beauty and unique character of the community by submitting their favorite shots for inclusion in the Scenes from the 40th District photo gallery.

Participants are encouraged to submit their best photographs that highlight the natural landscapes, community events, historical landmarks and everyday life within the district, which includes parts of Lackawanna, Wayne and all of Monroe county.

All photos will be shared in the Scenes from the 40th Senatorial District Photo Gallery.
