The department of political science and economics at East Stroudsburg University is proud to announce that Dr. Sima Samar is the spring 2024 Kurt Wimer International Lecture Series speaker. Her lecture will be on Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. in the Niedbala Auditorium located inside the Warren E. ’55 & Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center.

If you’ve had prior work or volunteer experience for a local company in the for-profit or non-profit sector, and plan to major in college in an area such as business or design that would support hospitality, tourism or recreation, check out this scholarship! Applications are due by April 30, 2024, and winners can receive as much as $1,000 awarded to them. Metzger Wickersham’s Road to Safety Scholarship Contest is open to graduating, college-bound high school seniors in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania high school seniors may enter the contest by submitting a creative project that sends a memorable message about the dangers of drunk driving or distracted driving. If you have at least a 2.5 GPA, have been accepted into a 2 or 4-year college/university for fall of 2024, and are interested in the NAACP – check out this scholarship! There will be five scholarships awarded in the amount of $1,000 each and the application deadline is Friday, April 2, 2024. Awardees may be requested to attend a Monroe County NAACP meeting in June 2024 to accept the scholarship award.
