LONG POND, Pa. (May 13, 2024) – Pocono Raceway has earned the esteemed title of “Best NASCAR Track” in the recently released 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards by USA TODAY.
The “Tricky Triangle” was nominated by an expert panel at USA TODAY in the “Best NASCAR Track” category and the fans voted over a four-week period throughout April to determine the winner.
On May 1, East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Business Management held an induction ceremony for the Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society. At the ceremony, Marcy Cetnar ’21, a graduate student studying management and leadership, delivered the keynote speech entitled “Success Does Not Have a Time or Age Limit.” Dr. Sylvester E Williams, IV, Dean of ESU’s College of Business and Management also presented “Prepare for a Career in Business.”
The ceremony recognized the academic achievements of the most outstanding students studying business management and administration. To be eligible for membership for Sigma Beta Delta, a student must be in the top 20 percent of their junior, senior, or graduated class, and be invited by faculty.
TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police arrested two people they believe were plotting to steal cooking oil from two Monroe County businesses.
On April 30 around 4:45 a.m., the Pocono Township Police Department said they were called to an attempted theft from the Scotrun Diner.
Investigators arrived on the scene and said they learned two people parked a van next to the grease traps in the rear of the diner and left after being noticed by a witness.
Several minutes later, officers said they found a van matching the description from the witness parked next to a grease trap at New York Pizza. Officers approached the van and encountered Allentown residents Deyvi Santo De Jesus and Steven Caraballo Matos.
