Pick Up the Pocono collects over 40k bags of trash
by: Jalen Rhodes MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau (PMVB) has announced over 40,000 bags of trash were collected through overall litter efforts.According to a press release, over 500 volunteers spread out through 40 locations, covering 169 miles of roadways and collecting 1,041 bags of trash.

At long last, Marshalls Falls Park is open. We are overjoyed with the response the opening garnered. It took the better part of two decades to finally see this park come to fruition. Smithfield Township owes a debt of gratitude to many folks.
Troopers Investigate 'Terroristic Threats' Toward Monroe County Wawa
The Wawa at 1781 Route 209 got the calls around 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, troopers said.The store was temporarily closed and employees were evacuated while police "conducted a walk-through and assessed the building," according to the release.Nothing suspicious was found and the store reopened, police said.

Man dead, woman rescued from burning home in Monroe County
HAMILTON TWP., Pa. -- A Monroe County man and his dog are dead, following a fire at their home.But a woman was pulled out of the burning home alive. State Police troopers made the rescue overnight in Hamilton Township, near Stroudsburg.Neighbors say the woman cared for her middle-aged son, who was in a wheelchair, the result of a car accident.
