Submitted by staff on
PennDOT Update

Chestnuthill Township Residents,

I’ve seen the bridge closures signs on SR209 (near Willie Mae’s Place) as well as on SR115 (near the 115 Gas Station and Effort Neola Rd) and reached out to PennDOT for further information to help keep us all informed.

1. The Bridge on SR115 by the Gas Station and Effort Neola Road will be closed on August 2, 2024 with an anticipated completion date of August 31, 2024. There will be a partial detour as follows: Northbound Traffic will be unimpacted, southbound traffic will be detoured via Gilbert Road to 209, then to Weir Lake Road back to 115. I added a photo of the detour map to this post.

2. The Bridge on SR209 by Willie Mae’s Place will begin construction on August 5, 2024 with an anticipated completion date of August 31,2024. There will be no detour, but there will be lane restrictions and traffic control from 7pm to 7am. The bridge will be completely open during non-working hours.

As always, this information and other upcoming State and Local Road Projects are available for your review on the Townships website: https://www.chestnuthilltwp-pa.gov/infrastructure-updates

I hope you find this information helpful and if I hear of any new information or changes to the information provided I will provide an update.

Thanks,

Chuck
