The purpose of this article is to discuss the faulty logic that was used for determining commercial property values when Monroe County went through its reassessment in 2018.When determining a property's value, we are considering how much a property would be worth if was sold. Appraisals are performed by banks and assessments by taxing authorities, but the two sets of numbers should be similar.  On page 2 of the appeal form, Monroe County asks:A. how much the owner is charges for renting each unit. B. how much much was financed, the term, and rate.C. It also asks for 3 years of income and expenses.(!!!?!?)On page 3, it asks for more details that are irrelevant to the value of that property: 3 years of expenses for insurance, electricity, water, manager's salary, legal & accounting, advertising, and more.

The Birds!Hello Folks, Aunt Eunice here. I am in fine fettle now that spring has arrived and I hope you are too. Many signs of spring are all around as I am sure you’ve noticed. Daylight Savings Time means it’s light enough when I get home from the farm, seeing the crocuses bloom and the pussy willows budding. For the last two weeks, being around our house has been like being in the Alfred Hitchcock movie “The Birds”. Hundreds and thousands of starlings have migrated north and I swear, all of them are perched in my trees! The racket they make is quite loud. Sometimes they take off all at once for no apparent reason and swoop and swirl in unison like the beginning of a murmuration. It is a sight to behold!

Today, March 26, 2021, Mr. Thomas Yanac Jr. the duly-elected Coroner of Monroe County, has issued a Certificate of Death with respect to Ryann Bacchus, a female infant, aged two months, born on January 12, 2021.  The infant’s death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head inflicted upon her on or about March 19, 2021, in Barrett Township.  The manner of her death has been ruled homicide.Coroner Yanac has provided a copy of the death certificate to the District Attorney’s Office. The trauma to the child’s head resulted in multiple skull fractures.  Currently, three people have been charged in relation to the child’s death. The charges include Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Homicide charges have not yet been filed against anyone.

And Scripture is also clear that racism (preferential treatment and hatred of others) is a sin (e.g., James 2:1–4). So was Jesus racist? No, absolutely not. Now here’s the argument “Pastor” Brandan Robertson made in a recent TikTok: Did you know that there’s a part of the Gospel of Mark where Jesus uses a racial slur? In Mark chapter 7 there’s the account of the Syrophoenician woman. A woman who is Syrian and Greek, both of which there were strong biases against within the Jewish community.
