The proposed mega warehouse that could be built in close proximity to the Milford aquifer, continues to draw fire from residents and the Mayor of Milford.  And now, there is an interesting twist regarding the Pike County Commissioners and the Pike County Economic Development Authority.

PA live! (WBRE) — Friday on PA live!, Rachel spoke with Dr. Kelly Jean Kemmerer from the Monroe County Habitat for Humanity.

Dr. Kemmerer talks about Habitat's annual golf tournament, taking place on September 27th at the Great Bear Golf Club. The 26th annual event includes a buffet dinner, awards and trophies, and even special prizes, including a brand new car!

She also explains how the funds raised from the tournament can help the Habitat for Humanity mission.

Dr. Kemmerer also explains Habitat's home preservation program. She talks about who can qualify.

She also talks about how anyone interested in volunteering can get involved.

The East Stroudsburg University Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $17,000 grant from AllOne Charities, based in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. These funds will support hearing and speech/language screenings for at-risk children through the East Stroudsburg University Speech and Hearing Clinic.

The grant award will allow the clinic to purchase the necessary equipment to screen preschoolers for hearing loss and speech/language delays. The grant will also allow funding for a part-time staff member who will be certified in speech-language pathology or audiology to supervise the graduate students conducting the screenings.
