STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A visual testament of faith in Monroe County. The faithful from several churches are "Walking For Christ" in observance of Good Friday. The walk began at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stroudsburg. Participants in period dress recreate Stations of the Cross It's based on the last steps in the life of Jesus and takes the group to six area churches. This year a new cross leads the faithful throughout the borough. The walk brings together people of different faiths.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — For decades, several churches and the faithful in Monroe County have come together to ‘Walk for Christ’ in observance of Good Friday. Crowds of people cross the street in Stroudsburg, all with the same goal in mind to walk the stations of the cross. In observance of Good Friday, this "Cross Walk" has taken place in the borough for more than thirty years. Beginning at St. John's Lutheran Church on North Ninth Street, hundreds make their way to six area churches, hearing scriptures read at each stop explaining events that happened in Jesus’ life. “Whether you have been in church for the last 60 years or you don’t know anything about church at all, this is an opportunity for you to walk, literally, with some of your neighbors and explore what faith might be,” says Rev. Monica Guepet. A new cross guides the group, something that Pastor Liz Koerner says is a good reminder.
