Stroudsburg prepares for crucial stretch

Tomorrow, Stroudsburg baseball begins a crucial stretch of conference games that could determine their playoff fate as the regular season nears its end. With just a few weeks remaining, every game carries more weight, and the Mountaineers are locked in as they prepare to make a final push in the standings. Stroudsburg currently sits in seventh place in the District 11 6A standings, holding an 8-5 overall record.  They have started to find their rhythm at the right time, winning five of their last seven games and showing signs of the consistency needed to finish strong.  “ “ The team has been able to compete and win against some really strong teams, showing us and our opponents that we can compete with anybody.” — Coach Suarez

Softball faces Cardinals after Freedom loss

This afternoon, varsity softball takes on Pocono Mountain East Cardinals on the road. Pocono Mountain East is one of Stroudsburg’s district rivals. The Mountaineers won against PME earlier this season, 17-9, and looks to take another win from them. The Mountaineers lost their last game against Freedom High School, where the mercy rule was put into effect in the sixth inning, and lost 13-3. They hope to turn things around with this game and get back on the winning track. Isabella Thomas,’26, expresses how rough the Freedom game was: “We got our butts handed to us.” She also added that the game was fun because it was challenging. Stroudsburg’s pitcher Jordan Cook,’27, says, “It should be a great game and we should win”. She also thinks this would be a great boost for the team after their loss to Freedom. Thomas shares that she is confident in her team to win this game with no problem.
