Mini-THON 2025 in full swing

As excitement builds for the upcoming Mini-THON at SHS, the energy around this year’s event is buzzing. After raising over $90,000 last year, the executive team entered this year with an ambitious goal to break the six-figure mark. The countdown has officially begun and there’s no doubt that it will be memorable and filled with fun! Mini-Thon is set for April 26th-April 27th from 8 pm to 8 am. Let’s take a deeper look into what is going to make Mini-THON 2025 the best one yet.  This year’s Mini-Thon committee chose a Superhero theme. The journey to reaching their six-figure goal is off to a good start with the Chick-fil-A sandwich sale being a fan-favorite, allowing students to raise money with things they enjoy. With a fundraiser like this one, the team is on the track to success.

Mac and cheese

If you live in America, you already know and have probably eaten one of the most popular dishes. According to History Net, macaroni and cheese comes from France, yet finds itself as the main course on American plates through various holidays and get-togethers. Macaroni and cheese was invented by Thomas Hemmings, an enslaved Frenchman to Thomas Jefferson. He was an accomplished chef who used his culinary skills to mix pasta with cheese and invented macaroni and cheese. “Mac and cheese is a great food. I love it and it makes my heart happy,” expressed Cate Hoffman, ’26. Once mac and cheese was brought to America, it developed into different recipes and types. Lobster mac and cheese, baked mac and cheese, and truffle mac and cheese are just a few of the plethoric amounts of mac and cheese recipes.
