CRESCO, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are looking for a suspect who they say tried to withdraw $5,700 from a bank in Monroe County. According to the Pocono Mount Regional Police Department, on August 7 officers were called to the First Keystone Bank in Cresco after a man tried to withdraw $5,700 from a checking/savings account. Kingston police search for wanted man The suspect did provide identification but the bank manager could not positively identify him as one of the account holders, police said. After being denied, the suspect fled the store before police could arrive. Later officers said the actual account holder confirmed that theft was attempted. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pocono Mountain Regional Police.

MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Dedicated to addressing hunger and isolation Monroe County Meals on Wheels volunteers are the eyes and ears for those seeking help. The hustle and bustle at Monroe County Meals on Wheels happen year-round, but this month it’s around-the-clock work. Special Events Coordinator Stacey Koeck says the event raises awareness about the non-profit and its program drives to benefit clients. “We have one for our client needs pantry, which are things like deodorant, toilet paper, and other essential items that people need for their home. Then we have our pet food drive for our pet program which is in its 15th year.”
