On 6/24/24 Toni Shuppe of Audit the Vote PA, and a group of Patriots gathered in Harrisburg at the state capitol to express concerns with our current election system and the voters lack of confidence in it. The purpose was to highlight the numerous problems with utilizing machines in our elections, the lack of interest by many election officials and to provide a demo of the hand counting process. There are many benefits to hand counting: saves money, it is transparent, get results in one day and increase voter confidence that their vote is accurately counted.

A well-known animal shelter in Monroe County will once again have its own veterinary clinic. AWSOM’s Wellness Center is reopening its doors next month after it closed a little over a year ago.
The waiting room is empty now but we’re told the phones and emails haven’t stopped since AWSOM Wellness Center announced it’ll be reopening to the public.
AWSOM Animal Shelter General Manager Jackie Fritz says, "It looks like the whole first week is almost already fully booked."
It closed the end of April last year due to a personnel work stoppage. The shelter board members were unable to resolve the issues and decided it was best to part ways. Now the low-cost clinic has a completely new staff.

STROUD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The time from Memorial Day to Labor Day is named the 100 deadliest days as there is a sharp increase in fatal vehicle crashes, especially involving teenagers, according to AAA.
Mike Stettler with the Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Department talked about the influx of drivers in the Poconos.
“Typically, the higher volume of high traffic in the summer leads to more people, especially people out of town. We’re a big vacation destination so you have issues with people not knowing how to go from one place to another.”
Nationwide, more than 7,400 people died in teen driver-related summertime crashes from 2013 to 2022.
Stettler says safety on the roads is important not just for teens, but all drivers.
