With winter sports in full swing, Stroudsburg has multiple Athletes of the Week nominees– as always.
Last week, Anna Kirby, ‘25, Emily Bozena, ‘25, and Sam Sroka, ‘25 were nominated by The Pocono Record.
Anna Kirby, ’25.
Emily Bozena, ’25.
Kirby broke her own school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00:45. Bozena scored 27 points in a 68-47 win against Pocono Mountain East, and Sroka won the 50-yard freestyle against William Allen with a time of 24:68.
Kirby is rewriting Stroudsburg swim history again. She is committing to the Division 1 school, Marist College. Last year, she won districts and made it to states, and this year she hopes will be the encore.

2024 Stroudsburg High School Musicfest
On Dec. 7, 2024, Stroudsburg High School hosted the annual Musicfest from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Students grades six through twelve (middle school to senior year) performed in front of a large audience after all the hard work they put into practicing for their show.
The first half of the day included Craftfest, where people from the Poconos brought crafts to the Stroudsburg High School gymnasium.
“
My experience at Musicfest this year included volunteering at craftfest and backstage but also performing on stage for choir, show choir, and band. I enjoyed watching the younger groups prepare to go on stage being Musicfest was still new to them.

Pet Safety reminders for frigid temps
Winter weather takes a toll on pets too. Dry skin, cracked paws, frostbite, and an emergency supply kit for power outages are just as much a reality for your pet as they are for your family (pets are family). Some pets love the snow and others don’t fare as well.
According to the American Red Cross, here are some tips on how to keep your fur-ever friends safe this winter season.
