Tobyhanna man charged with identity theft
EXETER — A man from Tobyhanna was charged with using another man’s identity to open a bank account and depositing a $194,730 check he then attempted to withdraw.
Nolan Hileam Emory, 34, opened a bank account at the M&T Bank branch in the Midway Shopping Center using another man’s name, date of birth and Social Security number, according to court records.

Register To Vote!
National Voter Registration Day was Tuesday, Sept 17. Many corporations and celebrities have promoted the importance of registering to vote.
Stroudsburg High School promoted registration by showcasing a voter registration table during the Activities Fair on Thursday, Sept 19.
The last several elections have shown the growth of youth involvement. According to Tufts, 23 percent of voters were youth in 2022, and that is growing in every state.
“Young people have a different take on modern life than older people do, so by making your voices heard and by being involved in politics, you make sure that people that think like you, are elected to represent you.” Sophie Best, ‘26.
