Free Seminar: Women's Self Defense

We all woke up to some pretty disturbing news about young girls being abducted right here in our county. After discussing with my husband, we thought it was necessary to set a date for a women’s self defense seminar.

We have done these before and haven’t in awhile but I think the occasion calls for it. This is FREE. We do not expect anyone to sign up or make promises to join our academy. We genuinely want the women in our community to learn how to properly defend themselves.

If you are interested, please give us a call or text so we can get a head count.

As a community, we have repeatedly voiced our concerns and requests regarding the urgent need for education funding reform and Cyber Charter reform. The Pocono Mountain School District Board of Education has, time and, time again, unanimously and bipartisanly passed resolutions calling for our state officials to take action. Every board since 2012 has been calling for this same exact legislation.

One of the suspects, Davaun Jackson, is a former member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. This aspect of the story has raised concerns about the need for a broader discussion on veterans and mental health, an issue often overlooked in public discourse. The omission of this detail by many news outlets highlights the challenges and stigma surrounding mental health support for veterans.

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — The tennis courts at Mountain View Park in Pocono Township are a favorite spot for Dacosta Smith and his family.

"We always come out here when the weather is good. We've been playing out here for 20 years or so," said Smith.

But in recent years, a new game has taken over the court.
