The county has received a $695,000 grant to put violence intervention resources into action. 

Officials hope this next step means officers will have fewer gun-related calls to respond to.

Family Promise of the Poconos Seeking Public Input on Grant Application

Family Promise of the Poconos is seeking public input for their application to the State of Pennsylvania for HOME-ARP Supportive Services. Funding is being applied for Monroe County for transportation, case management, financial assistance, short and medium-term rent assistance, and administrative costs to operate the program.

The public hearing will take place on Tuesday, July 9th at 6pm at 905 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Please see the flyer below for more information available.

Polk Township Supervisors Vote on Effort Solar Conditional Use Application - June 25, 2024

Polk Township's Board of Supervisors held a special meeting to vote solely on the Effort Solar Conditional Use Application.  

The supervisors voted to deny the application.  The votes were the following:

Yes
I will go along with it - the chairman

After the meeting, I confirmed with township solicitor that the motion was 3-0 for denying the application and he said yes it was 3-0.
