TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY(WBRE/WYOU) — Police are searching for a man they say stole over $1,200 worth of clothing from a store at the Pocono Premium Outlets.
According to the Pocono Township Police Department, on August 14 around 7:00 p.m., the man pictured below entered the Polo Ralph Lauren Outlet in Tannersville.
STROUD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man from Wilkes-Barre has been indicted for allegedly robbing a bank by the federal grand jury in Scranton.
According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, 29-year-old Damen Drakeford allegedly robbed the M&T Bank located at 900 North Ninth Street in Stroud Township on July 14.
An investigation was conducted by the Stroud Area Reginal Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force which resulted in the charges against Drakeford.

According to investigators, 34-year-old Kenell Chisholm, from York, wanted by the York Police Department for attempted homicide was arrested in the 400 block of Scotrun Avenue, Scotrun.
On December 9, 2022, the York City Police Department investigated an incident involving multiple shots fired on the 400 block of E. Philadelphia Street.
Three people were shot in this incident, including a 3-year-old child, police said.

EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are charging a woman they say stole a credit card and used it to purchase multiple DoorDash orders.
According to the Pocono Township Police Department, an officer was contacted by a victim who reported her credit card was illegally being used to make several purchases.
The victim told police in May, she was with Michelle Henderson, 39, from East Stroudsburg, at her house when allegedly at some point Henderson took the victim's credit card to put it on her DoorDash account to order Wendy's.
The next day the victim saw the charge on her credit card and confronted Henderson about it. Investigators stated Henderson admitted to using the card information but didn't say how she got the information.
EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Area schools have received funding to introduce a new curriculum approved for students with disabilities.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) announced Friday, 10 area schools have received grant funding under the Disability Inclusive Curriculum Pilot Program to instruct K-12 students on the political, economic, and social contributions of individuals with disabilities.
"This funding will allow schools across the Commonwealth to better serve all learners by creating or expanding disability-inclusive programming that reduces stigma and builds belonging," said Secretary of Education Dr. Khalid N. Mumin.
MONROE COUNTY(WBRE/WYOU) — Investigators are searching for a man they say is wanted for drug delivery that resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man.
According to the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney in March 2023 a 33-year-old Stroudsburg man, Steven Nitschke, was found dead in his home of an apparent drug overdose.
An autopsy and toxicology report showed Nitschke’s cause of death was fentanyl toxicity.
Detectives began obtaining evidence that showed his co-worker, Edwin Burgos, delivered what he said was heroin to Nitschke hours before he was found dead.
