EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are searching for suspects who robbed a FedEx driver in East Stroudsburg.
According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, on October 15 around 1:54 p.m., the man pictured was involved in a strong-armed robbery of a FedEx delivery driver in East Stroudsburg.
Stroud Area Regional PolicePolice say the suspect fought the FedEx delivery person to take a package from them.

On October 25, 2024, Stroudsburg held their Homecoming game against Pleasant Valley.
Over the past couple weeks, each class has been working hard at creating a float corresponding to the chosen theme. This year’s theme was 1980s popular movies.
Once all lined up along the sidelines, the winners were announced as follows:
Fourth place was Freshman, ’28 with Hairspray.
Third was Sophomores, ’27 with Back to the Future.
Second was Juniors, ’26 with Ghostbusters.

Driver allegedly threatens troopers during arrest for hit and run
TOBYHANNA TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police charged a man after they allege he threatened troopers while being arrested for a hit-and-run incident.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, on October 25 troopers were called to investigate a driver that almost hit another car in Tobyhanna Township.
Police say the vehicle fit the description of a hit-and-run crash that occurred in Wilkes-Barre
City earlier that evening.
Troopers found the car and the suspect, Corey Nelson, 35, was arrested. PSP said while being arrested Nelson made numerous threats towards troopers.
The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office approved charges for terrorist threats against Nelson.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Fall is in full swing and when the temperatures get cooler your house gets warmer by cranking up the heat.
28/22 News spoke to a heating business in Monroe County and has more on how you can keep your home safe in the colder months.
Work starts before the sun rises at r.j. Groner in Stroudsburg, especially when a chill is in the air.
“This time of year we see a spike in phone calls as soon as the temperature drops,” said Karen Zacharias, inside salesperson, R.J. Groner.
Zacharias has worked for the plumbing, heating, and cooling company for more than a decade. She explains how they urge everyone to run through a safety checklist before turning on their home's heat.

I hold a split position at Stroudsburg, teaching at both the high school and junior high school.
What subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Social Studies, focusing specifically on Economics, Civics and Government, and United States History.
How long have you been teaching at SASD?
This is my first year of teaching, as well as my first year at SASD!
What is your favorite part about teaching?
My favorite part about teaching is seeing the moment when a student truly understands a concept. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I can make a difference in their learning journey. I also love building connections with my students and witnessing their growth, both academically and personally. Those moments of discovery and engagement are what make teaching so fulfilling for me.
