Veterans honored at Pocono Raceway with cars
LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Those who served their country were honored at Pocono Raceway thanks to a national program.
It was a liberating moment for two Pennsylvania veterans. Both were gifted a refurbished car and can now rebuild their lives.
A refurbished 2017 Hyundai Tucson was donated to Marine Corps veteran Lucas Somishka and a 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus was donated to U.S. Army Veteran Richard Kozuck.
The veterans are members of the Valor Clinic Foundation in Kunkletown.
Somishka served in the Marine Corps from 2005 to 2010. He says the car will help him commute to different job sites.
"It helps me take care of myself for one, and now I can get back to my family and try and get them all together."
Kozuck served in the army from 1969 to 1975 and will now be able to get to doctor appointments and see family.
