This week, I hosted a press conference in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. The purpose was to encourage individuals to seek mental health support and to raise awareness about the importance of mental health care. Speakers included the administrator for Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Health Services Tina Clymer, vice president of Northbound Community Recovery Center Joe Mattioli and local student, Giana Paust.

On Monday, May 6, Stroudsburg Softball won their ninth straight game as they defeated Pocono Mountain West, 17-0.
It tallied as their 15th victory of the season and another trip to the playoffs.
Last season, they were victorious in the District 11 6A Quarterfinal over Freedom, 7-3.
Pitcher, Hannah Helm, 12, recorded the win in the game. Helm is expected to get the start in tomorrow’s game against Liberty in the District 11 6A Quarterfinal matchup. Helm also recorded her 100th strikeout for her career and is nearing 100 for this season.
