ESU honors veterans in 16th Annual Veterans Day Celebration
EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — East Stroudsburg University (ESU) hosted its 16th annual Veterans Day celebration on Monday afternoon.
The event recognized local veterans in all branches of the armed services.
The ceremony started in Beers Lecture Hall with keynote speaker Lieutenant Colonel Michael Gielbeda, Commander of 111th Operations Support Squadron which deals with cyberspace and information operations.
Gielbeda spoke of the importance of caring for our veterans and for them to tell their stories.
Monroe County Coroner called after pedestrian struck
TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities were on the scene after a pedestrian was reportedly struck by a vehicle Monday evening.
Officials say the Pocono Mountain Regional Police, the Tunkhannock Township Fire Department, and the West End Fire Department were called to the intersection of State Route 115 and Allegheny Drive shortly before 5:00 p.m.
According to officials, the Monroe County Coroner was called to the scene.
