Boys’ Soccer continues to struggle
On Wednesday, September 25, the boys’ soccer team’s struggles continued as it lost to Emmaus 7-0.
The team looked lost in the game against the red-hot Emmaus offense. Stroudsburg has been down to a 3-9 and now sits 12 in the conference.
The offense needs to take steps to improve, as they are currently outscored 29-4 in September, thus far.
The Mountaineers are currently on a 4-game-losing streak and the streak continued Friday in a 5-1 loss to Freedom. They are on the road against a 3-8-1 Easton team today.
Customers experience the paranormal at Candle Shoppe
SWIFTWATER, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — As October approaches, many people are finding the ‘spooky spirit of Halloween’ at one shop in the Poconos.
28/22 News stopped by the candle business to learn more about its building’s frightening history.
Thousands of hand-poured candles and trinkets fill the Candle Shoppe of the Poconos in Swiftwater.
Stuffed monkeys are popular items, why you may ask? Because the shop is known for alleged paranormal animal activity.
“We started to have paranormal experiences,” said Linda Schlier, owner, Candle Shoppe of the Poconos. “It went from there to calling some psychics in and some mediums, and got ahold of Animal Planet because we had animal activity here.” continued Schlier.
Schlier opened the shop 18 years ago on Route 611 not knowing its haunted history.

Would you recognize the warning signs of someone at risk? Nearly half of Americans believe they would according to YouGov.
Suicide is defined as death caused by self-directed injurious behavior with intent to die. A suicide attempt is a non-fatal, self-directed, potentially injurious behavior with intent to die. A suicide attempt might not result in injury. Suicidal ideation refers to thinking about, considering, or planning suicide. According to YouGov, “23 percent of Americans have experienced suicidal thoughts.”
