Marshalls Creek Fire Co. Just Got Safer!
Thanks to Senator Rosemary Brown, Rep. Maureen Madden, and Rep. Tarah Probst, Marshalls Creek Fire Co.'s Cancer Risk Reduction & Security Upgrades Project was funded $248,437 via the LSA Monroe program.
Improvements include exhaust systems in both fire company garages, upgrades to gear cleaning equipment, and upgrades to fire detection and security equipment. The project reduces cancer risks for firefighters who currently breathe in fumes in the garages, and transport contaminated gear in their personal vehicles for cleaning elsewhere. Lastly, fire detection and security upgrades will protect both the existing and new equipment.
Township Manager Julia Heilakka worked extensively with MCFC board members and our local legislators to secure this critical funding.
