STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Music students in Stroudsburg received some special scholarships on Thursday night.
It's all part of the international organization ANCLA Latina.
Students met with music producer Daniel Perez, known as producer Bugz Ronin. As a former Stroudsburg High School student, Ronin is now giving back to students through music scholarships.
Three students received $500 each to put toward their future education.
"I always wanted to do something to give back to Stroudsburg High School because they were great to me, and they taught me a lot, and they're the reason why I am who I am today," said Bugz Ronin, music producer.
Award winners took photos with Ronin and even performed some music at the event.
The East Stroudsburg Area School District board voted unanimously to part ways with Superintendent William Riker after renewing his contract last September for a term ending June 30, 2027.
The board plans to have John Toleno, a former Stroudsburg Area School District superintendent, start as interim superintendent on June 10, pending a vote at a special meeting.
CHESTNUTHILL TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The case against accused killer Bryan Kohberger is slowly moving forward as there was another pre-trial hearing Thursday in Idaho. It's just one of several so far.
It's been about a year and a half since Bryan Kohberger was arrested from a Chestnuthill Township community, accused of killing four University of Idaho students.
Monroe County native, Bryan Kohberger, is facing four murder charges for the stabbing deaths of the students back in November of 2022.
Thursday's pre-trial hearing was just one of many, it focused on DNA evidence as well as surveillance video and cell phone data that led to Kohberger's arrest.
EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A car dealership in the Poconos is helping its neighbors in the community.
Toyota of Stroudsburg in held its third Community Day at the dealership Thursday in East Stroudsburg.
The dealership gave away a total of $25,000.

Monroe County firefighters in need of funds kick off the summer festival season later this week.
The four fire companies in Monroe County’s West End are working together to put on a three day fundraising festival.
The annual event at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert comes at a time when firefighters need the community’s support the most.
"This year at the festival we decided to do something a little bit different to make people aware of the dedication and the amount of years these fire companies have been around."
Thanks to Susan Hunter the history of the four fire companies that serve Monroe County’s West End will be on full display at the annual Fireman’s Festival this Thursday through Saturday. She knows firsthand their sacrifices truly make a life or death difference.
