Governor Shapiro pays visit to Poconos in RV tour

TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Following Governor Josh Shapiro's announcement in Scranton, he took a trip to Barley Creek Brewing Company in the Poconos.

As part of his new state tourism brand Pennsylvania: The Great American Getaway, encouraging tourism in the state.

The governor made his way to the brewery in his RV. He started off with a walk through the restaurant indoors.

Next, he checked out the patio and even played a game of wiffle ball.

He says the Poconos are a prime case of the tourism the Keystone State has to offer.

"It's actually a really great example of the importance of the tourism industry on our economy of Pennsylvania. It employs so many people it leads to really seismic and positive change in the community and so we wanted to launch the campaign here. We think it's really important," Governor Shapiro explained.

His RV tour will continue next in Philadelphia, he plans to make 50 stops in total in 14 Pennsylvania counties from Monday until Sunday.
