The Borough of East Stroudsburg enacted a short term rental ordinance in 2021. The ordinance requires licensing and a list of requirements including the use of a private trash hauler. Zoning regulations limit the licenses to Commercial and Industrial areas, properties in residential areas will need a variance. Details can be found in the East Stroudsburg STR Ordinance. The East Stroudsburg University Foundation hosted its second annual “Thank A Donor Day” on April 23, 2025, at the Dansbury Commons Plaza. The event invited all ESU students, faculty, and staff to show gratitude to private donors who have supported the university.

Students studying sport management at East Stroudsburg University recently had two opportunities to visit Yankee Stadium in Bronx, N.Y.
The first trip, on Sunday, April 13, allowed four students who will be freshman sport management majors at ESU this fall, a chance to engage with current students. They had the opportunity to network with members of the Yankees sales staff and visit the New York Yankees stadium museum.

BURN BAN IN EFFECT.
Stroud Township has issued a burn ban effective immediately. This includes campfires and wood fires for outdoor food preparation. Manufactured gas grills can be used for outdoor food preparation.
New Stop Sign
Motorists are advised to exercise caution when navigating the intersection of E. Broad St and Lackawanna Ave in East Stroudsburg Boro, as a new stop sign has been recently installed.

Saturday, April 26, East Stroudsburg South held an Invitational meet with nine schools. The SHS girls took first place, while the SHS boys took second at this meet. After dropping a nail-bitingly close match to South earlier in the week, Stroudsburg took a trip over the bridge one last time with revenge in mind.

East Stroudsburg University’s College of Education and the Council for Exceptional Children hosted a community painting day. Children of all ages came to ESU’s campus on Saturday, April 26 to create a work of art to share with their class or teacher.
