Short Term Rental Information
The Borough of East Stroudsburg enacted a short term rental ordinance in 2021. The ordinance requires licensing and a list of requirements including the use of a private trash hauler. Zoning regulations limit the licenses to Commercial and Industrial areas, properties in residential areas will need a variance. Details can be found in the East Stroudsburg STR Ordinance. There is a water main break that is affecting water of the East Stroudsburg Borough residents and businesses in the North Courtland Street area. Customers in this area may experience dirty or cloudy water. You can let the water run a few minutes and it should clear up. If you are still having issues by the morning, please contact our office during regular business hours of 8 am to 5 pm at 570-421-8300 for further assistance. Please note, there is NOT a boil water advisory due to this break.

Trees must have all lights, stands, and ALL decorations (including tinsel and garland) removed before picked up. Trees picked up will be chipped up and turned into mulch at the Twin Boroughs Recycling Center.

With the prospect of winter weather on the horizon, East Stroudsburg Borough would like to take this opportunity to remind all East Stroudsburg Borough residents that Section 132-1 of the East Stroudsburg Code requires sidewalks to be cleared of snow and/or ice accumulation within 24 hours of the end of the weather event.

As part of its water quality MS4 permit, the Borough is asking for your help to report unauthorized discharges to the streams, roads and storm sewers. The Borough is required to reduce sediment to Reservoir Run. Call the Borough office at 570-421-8300. Pamphlets, Annual Reports, and copies of the permit documents are also available at the Borough Office.
The Borough of East Stroudsburg has announced the tentative paving schedule for 2019 through 2030. Having this information available to the utility companies allows utility work to be scheduled accordingly so newly paved roads do not have to be torn up and worked on.
