Monroe County daycare worker accused of abuse

Cassadi Newsome, 19, walked out of district court covering his face after waiving his preliminary hearing Tuesday morning.

He's accused of sexually assaulting three children at Inch by Inch Child Care on Route 940 in Pocono Summit.

Police say Newsome started working at the daycare in July of 2024 doing odd jobs but was was then hired to help with daily activities in his mother's classroom.

Edwin Abrahamsen Jr. is representing one of the families whose daughter was allegedly abused by Newsome.

PPL Electric impacted by data breach

It's tied to the 2023 breach involving MOVEit, a type of file transfer software. Hackers were able to steal files from companies and agencies around the world, including the U.S. Department of Energy. 

A Russian ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

PA DEP Grants Warehouse Permit in Pocono Township, Public Not Notified for Weeks

On January 14, 2025, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) quietly approved a stormwater permit for Core 5’s proposed warehouse on Warner Road in Pocono Township. However, the public was not informed of this decision until February 1, raising concerns that the delay may have been intentional to limit the time available for an appeal.
