Fall Fest at Camelback

Camelback Resort is known for its waterparks, but this October, they are hosting a fall festival. On October 4-5, fun activities like pumpkin bowling, a ball pit, and mini corn mazes are just a few of the activities happening. Girls’ Soccer dominates Dieruff on Senior Night

On Saturday, Stroudsburg destroyed Dieruff 8-0  during the girls’ senior night. The Mountaineers had six different players score goals, including three seniors.  Amelia Nieman, ’25, showed out scoring two goals and having an assist to add to that. Movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s viral book “It Ends With Us” sparks new levels of controversy over an already contentious book. According to Chels Upton from Slate, Hoover’s fan base has been described to be similar to Taylor Swift’s: loyal and fierce defenders. Oktoberfest kicks off at Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain Resort is hosting Oktoberfest on September 28 and 29 from 11-5 pm.  Live German music and dancers will perform; traditional foods, games, children’s activities, craft vendors, hayrides, and a pumpkin patch are just a few of the events on the list. National Voter Registration Day was Tuesday, Sept 17. Many corporations and celebrities have promoted the importance of registering to vote. Volleyball loses to Parkland

On Wednesday, September 18, Stroudsburg lost to Parkland 3-0. Knowing Parkland is a strong team, Stroudsburg came out strong gaining the lead in the first set of the game. Yellow Sac Spiders

Yellow sac spiders, cheiracanthium inclusum, are non-social spiders. They stay away from humans and are usually without other spiders. According to the Western Exterminator Company, sac spiders accidentally end up indoors.  Sac spiders feed off of other spiders. Assistant Principal Romberger moves on

Assistant Principal, Dan Romberger, joined the SHS team in 2022.  However, while serving as an administrator, Romberger also served as the MCTI Liaison and the MTSS coordinator. Romberger will be taking a principal position at Brandywine Intermediate/Middle School. Faculty, staff, and students said their goodbyes on Thursday as it marked his last official day with the SHS district.

According to Illinois Department of Public health, brown recluse spiders (Loxosceles reclusa) primarily enter homes by hitching a ride on moving furniture, boxes, and other items.
