Squirrel takes down SHS power

On Monday afternoon, during the fifth period, the power cut out in SHS. The power outage didn’t last longer than a minute before it quickly turned back on. Though students were left confused and hoping for an early dismissal, the power was not disrupted the rest of the day. The cause of this blackout was revealed only a period later. Pumpkin Palooza winner slays the competition

Congratulations to Mr. Kontos who beat out 13 other competitors in the Mountaineer’s Pumpkin Palooza decorating contest. Kontos won with whopping 117 votes, grabbing nearly 42 percent of the tally. Kontos’ winning design appears to be one pumpkin eating another. Apparently, the cannibalistic carving spoke to the viewers. Kontos shared that he had “some encouragement” from his fiance but he…

Second Round matchup for Volleyball

Stroudsburg Volleyball takes on Liberty for district quarterfinals today at 4:00 p.m. Throughout the regular season, Liberty beat Stroudsburg 3-0 with close scores for each set. This Mountaineers team strongly believed they have gotten better throughout the season and are ready to win over Liberty. This should be an interesting game that you won´t want to miss.  

Field Hockey prepares for Round 1 of the playoffs

Stroudsburg Field Hockey will be playing Parkland High School in round one of the EPC Playoffs. The game will be played at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24. Diwali is now officially celebrated in Pennsylvania

Diwali is now an official holiday in Pennsylvania. On Monday, October 21, 2024, Governor Josh Shapiro signed Senate Bill 402 into law while attending a Diwali celebration.
