Blue Mountain brush fire claims 600 acres
On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, a brush fire started on Blue Mountain. The fire quickly spread due to high winds and weeks without rain made it almost impossible to stop.

Route 611 reopens
According to 69 News, Route 611 is reopening after two inactive years because of a rockslide caused by heavy rains in Dec. 2022.
Currently, only a single lane is reopening; the full road will not reopen until a permanent solution is found. Originally, the road was set to fully reopen this month.
