Delaware Water Gap, PA – Women’s Resources of Monroe County believes in every person’s right to bodily autonomy and to make decisions about what’s best for their lives. Women’s Resources of Monroe County strongly opposed any actions—legislatively or otherwise—that limit a person’s right to access a full range of reproductive healthcare services, including abortion care. We believe consent and bodily autonomy are fundamental rights no person, law or government should violate. These beliefs are integral to our mission and work.

At the 'Fight for Lives' news conference Wednesday, June 8, Pa. state Rep. Maureen Madden said people are demanding action in response to the ongoing gun violence pandemic in this country, particularly when the violence enters our schools. Yet the GOP-led General Assembly refuses to act. How much more violence, heartbreak and death must we suffer before enough is enough, she asks? Pa. Democrats, Madden said, have a vision, a plan and the legislation to make a difference and strengthen the safety of our schools and our communities.More at RepMadden.com

After the majority party voted against suspending the rules that would have allowed pragmatic, bipartisan bills to be considered for vote on the House floor, Pa. state Rep. Maureen Madden highlighted the hypocrisy of the 'thoughts and prayers' narrative, which does nothing to make children and schools safer from gun violence. In the wake of 19 children getting murdered in their Texas classroom this week, the time is now, she said, for actual action and to find humane and sensible solutions for a uniquely American crisis.

Introducing our newest canned cocktail – the Transfusion. With an ABV of 7.5%, this awesomely quaffable drink is made with Barley Creek craft vodka, 100% Concord grape juice, ginger ale, and lime. The Transfusion is known in some circles as Golf’s Greatest Drink, probably because former prez Dwight Eisenhower was a fan who maybe invented the cocktail? We tried to fact-check this bit of history, but the truth is that nobody really knows when the first Transfusion was mixed. A Google search (which is pretty much the extent of our “deep-dive research”) comes up with some gory history about blood transfusions and the penchant for Ancient Romans to storm arenas after combat to drink the blood of the fallen gladiators. Maybe if they had some Transfusion cocktails back then things would have been more chill. History lesson aside, the takeaway here is that you can now get a Barley Creek Transfusion in a can and, well, take it away to wherever you need to be Transfused.
