Pa. state Rep. Maureen Madden speaks against a Pa. Republican attempt to amend the state Constitution to remove a woman's right to choose a safe, legal abortion. Madden says this is not the battle we wanted, but she is confident the voters of Pennsylvania will rise to the occasion and vote down this dangerous reversal of well established precedent.
After standing with Democratic colleagues from the PA House and Senate at a rally Monday decrying the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, state Rep. Maureen Madden, D-Monroe, expressed frustration that the branch of government that's supposed to be the least political — the judicial — has instead become the most political. Justices who voted to overturn Roe, she said, perjured themselves, and Madden promised that the fight to protect women's reproductive healthcare, including abortion access, is only beginning.

At the 'Fight for Lives' news conference Wednesday, June 8, Pa. state Rep. Maureen Madden said people are demanding action in response to the ongoing gun violence pandemic in this country, particularly when the violence enters our schools. Yet the GOP-led General Assembly refuses to act. How much more violence, heartbreak and death must we suffer before enough is enough, she asks? Pa. Democrats, Madden said, have a vision, a plan and the legislation to make a difference and strengthen the safety of our schools and our communities.
On this episode of Monroe Matters, Pa. state Rep. Maureen Madden chats with PA Legislative Black Caucus Chair Rep. Donna Bullock about the legacy of K.
