SHS’s loss is MCTI’s gain
Known best as Miss Jessica by high school students, this lunch monitor will be sorely missed by many. She greeted students with a motherly and welcoming smile. She offered positive words of encouragement and treated students with respect. In return, students treated her and other lunch monitors the same way. Although Miss Jessica has only worked at the high school for three years, she made quite an impression on many. Students from all lunches came together to say goodbye but also to wish her well on her new job at MCTI. Friday, December 22, marked her final day here at the SHS cafeteria.

2023-24 Rifle Season Preview
The SHS Rifle team aimed to win last week against Bethelem Freedom High School at the Pocono Pistol Club.
During last year’s Northeast Pennsylvania Rifle League, led by now alumni, all-star shooter Christopher Busch, class of 2023, the Mounties placed second in the league and sixth in the state. Busch was the second-best shooter in the entire state last year.
In their season opener, the Mounties just grazed the win over Bethlehem Freedom High School, shooting a collective 493 against Bethlehem’s 492. The Mountie rifle team lost several graduating varsity members leaving only one senior on the roster- Nathan Fritz.
Promising shooters such as Gavin Dunkelburger, 11, and Isabella Lisnik, 11, return to the team and Coach Patti Weiss with hopes of a successful 2023-2024 season.
The shooters set their sights on their upcoming match against Kutztown Area Senior HS.
