Field Hockey is heading to the Playoffs

The Stroudsburg Field Hockey team has made the playoffs once again with a record of 12-7 and a conference record of 12-6. In the last month, the girls have been on fire with an 8-3 record. Stroudsburg’s defense has been on lockdown, allowing zero goals in their victories this season other than an 8-1 win over Pleasant Valley. The defense is led by Lucy Barzev, ’25, with 28 saves, and Ella Butz, ’25, with 8. The offense has been absolutely electric this season outscoring their opponents 53 to 6 since September 16. The offense is led by Grace Staples, ’25, with 13 goals. She also leads the team in assists with 11, and shots with 31. Along with Staples, offensive weapons Haley Dreisbach, ’25, and Cailin Mignosi, ’26, have contributed to the goals with 11 and 10, respectively. Leanna Neri, ’27, and Sydney Moritz, ’25, have facilitated the ball well, combining for 15 assists this season.

Football prevails against East Stroudsburg North

On Friday, Stroudsburg defeated East Stroudsburg North, 40-7. The victory marked the Mountaineers’ second-largest margin of victory this season, only trailing the win against Pocono Mountain East, where they won by 37 points. WR Kamari Coleman, ’25, had two receiving touchdowns during the contest. He also had a scoop-and-score to increase the Stroudsburg lead. The 98-yard fumble return broke a school record, the second consecutive week a Mountaineer receiver has broken a record. WR Ethan Dudsak, ’25, broke the school reception record against Pocono Mountain West on October 4. The duo of receivers have dominated defenses this year, both having over 5 receiving touchdowns this season.
