50th Anniversary Park Celebration

Mark your Calendars!! Coolbaugh Township Municipal Park turns 50 years old and the Parks and Recreation Commission will be celebrating on June 29, 2024 from 12-5pm. There will be a park-wide scavenger hunt, baseball games, basketball games/ competitions, and concessions provided by different community organizations!! There will be music featuring the band Derailed from 1pm-4pm. The first 100 people to visit the Parks and Recreation table will receive a $5.00 food voucher for one of the concessions that will be located throughout the park. It is sure to be a day filled with fun for all ages!!!

So, come on out and join us at the Coolbaugh Township Municipal Park located at 1810 Church Street, Tobyhanna. Bring your lawn chairs, catch a game, listen to some amazing music, have a bite to eat and enjoy a summer day at the Park!! We look forward to celebrating with you!!

Bulk Drop Off

Just a reminder that bulk drop off for Coolbaugh Township Residents is being held today Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 7:30am to 3:00pm (closed from 12-12:30pm) at the Recycling Center located at 549 Laurel Drive, Tobyhanna, PA.

Residents are required to obtain a recycling card at the Municipal Center located at 5520 Municipal Drive, Tobyhanna, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, closed on holidays. Proof of residency is required to obtain a recycling card and you are allowed one card per residence. All residents are required to unload their own items at the drop off center in designated areas. Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony

The Coolbaugh Township Board of Supervisors respectfully invites the Township residents and the public to attend our Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony this Saturday, June 1st at 3 PM. We will gather as a community at the Coolbaugh Township Memorial Monument located at the township administration campus at 5520 Municipal Drive, Tobyhanna, PA to honor and pay homage to our fallen military men and women.

A special dedication and presentation will be made to remember former members of the Township Veterans Committee, Jason and Georgette Wenton who we lost in 2023.

As the BOS Liaison to the Veterans Committee, I sincerely hope you will honor us with your presence.

VFW Post 509 will be open for Soup Night on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 3:30pm-6:30pm. For a donation of $8.00 you will receive all you can eat soup featuring: Tomato, Sausage Minestrone, Chili, Navy Bean with Ham, Chicken Noodle, Mexican Meatball, Corn Chowder, Onion, Vegetable and Pumpkin Lentil Soups. Suspect wanted for alleged $2,000 credit card fraud

POCONO TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A suspect is wanted after police say he committed a credit card fraud worth $2,000 in Monroe County.

The Pocono Township Police Department is looking to identify the suspect pictured who they say stole items from inside of a parked car at Pocono Manor Golf Course on May 11.

Woman allegedly chased, threatened man with large knife

The suspect then used credit cards to make around $2,000 worth of purchases at multiple stores, police said.

STROUD TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman is being charged after police say she chased and threatened a man with a large bladed knife.

On June 6 around 4:50 p.m., offices were called to the area of Park Avenue in Stroud Township for a report of a woman with pink hair and a large knife, chasing and threatening the 911 caller.

Officers were making their way to the scene as the victim said he was still being chased by the woman with a knife. Once on the scene, police said they found the suspect, later identified as Amber Miller, 36, in the woods across the street from the Red Roof Inn.

Through further investigation, officers said they learned the victim was at the intersection of Lenox/Park Avenue, and saw Miller walking with a man while holding a knife and arguing.
