LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The sight of speeding race cars and the sound of roaring engines are drawing tens of thousands of race fans to the Poconos. It's the Great American Getaway 400 weekend at Pocono Raceway.

The Xfinity Series is currently underway at the Pocono Raceway. On Saturday, the qualifiers were held for Sunday's cup series, and a familiar face took his turn on the Tricky Triangle.

When talking about Pocono Raceway, one name that comes to mind is Denny Hamlin. Hamlin has the most wins at Pocono with seven.

Hamlin did not participate last week in Mexico as he and his wife welcomed the birth of their third child.

The week prior, Hamlin won at Michigan, so if he wins on Sunday, he will technically have back-to-back wins.

He spoke with 28/22 News on Saturday on what keeps him motivated each and every week, and why he feels Pocono is a little luck charm for him.

"It's just that knowing that every seven days, I have a chance to win. I mean, that's just something that is great about our sport is that, you know, if I don't win this weekend, I'm seven days away from the next opportunity. So, um, more often times than not, I feel like I can win, no matter what race track we go to. But there's just a few on the schedule, like Pocono, that I just feel like the chances are greater than others. So yeah, just the competition of it. You know, working on my craft, kind of, continuing to change things, even though I'm 20 years into my career," Hamlin said.

Hamlin spoke about how he keeps the wins coming is knowing every week is a reset, and he's pretty confident on any course, but especially at the Poconos.
