Swiftwater Forest Preserve, 239 Donaldson Rd, Cresco, PA 18326
(technically in Paradise)
April 7 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Although this forest preserve has the name “Swiftwater” in it, don’t look for any open water—there’s none! Swiftwater Creek is nearby but we won’t see it on our loop hike. An old woods road leads gradually uphill through a mixed hardwood forest, passing a chimney and outhouse. We’ll ascend and descend gradually through softwoods and spring flowers for about 2.5 miles in these 98 acres of woodland owned by Paradise Township. Wildlands Conservancy is working on a large erosion issue near here.
Wear comfortable footgear. Dress appropriately for the weather. Hiking poles are optional. Dogs are welcome.
This walk is free and is part of the Get Out! For Wellness series, in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network. Please register online.
