Update: Woman killed in murder-suicide in Monroe County is identified

Two people are dead after a murder-suicide Tuesday night in Monroe County.

Pocono Township police said a man and a woman were shot about 6:30 p.m. in a home on Ski Side Drive.

Officers were called to the home around that time for a report of a domestic incident with a firearm involving a boyfriend and girlfriend, according to a police department news release. When officers got to the home, they found both suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, where she died from her injuries.

Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio identified her as Leilani Ramos, 27, of Pocono Township. She was pronounced dead at the hospital about 8:30 p.m., according to a news release from Buglio’s office.

Her cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds, with the manner homicide.

Detective Sgt. James Wagner, the department’s officer-in-charge said that the incident was a murder-suicide. Additional information was not immediately available Wednesday morning.

Police said there is no threat to the public, and the investigation is ongoing.
