And just a couple weeks ago became the youngest driver to reach 15 career wins.

But trouble with his tires later in the race caused Heim to fall behind.

With about 15 laps to go, it was too much to overcome.

So it was the 23-year-old Layne Riggs, son of former cup series standout, Scott Riggs.

Layne led the final 20 laps en route to his win.

This is Riggs first win at Pocono Raceway, and here's what he had to say after his win this evening.

"Good speed, good truck, and a little bit of luck on our side. I'd rather be lucky than good, but man that truck there was really fast at the end. We got the track position kind of given to us, but man I'm excite right now, this is great, considering, I'm sure everybody has probably heard right now, but last year wrecked in practice lap , and I think I ran in 35th all day. But today, got the poll, fastest lap, won the race, won the first stage, man what a turnaround, it made last year's disappointment all worth it," exclaimed Riggs.
