Detective Varkanis of the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division, has filed criminal charges against Sarfraz Mohamed Abrahim, owner of 611 Transmission & Auto Repair on Route 611 in Stroudsburg PA, following an investigation into allegations of forgery and unauthorized vehicle repairs.

The charges stem from a November 2024 incident in which a customer brought his vehicle to Abrahim for warranty-covered repairs. While the vehicle remained at the shop for over six weeks, Abrahim performed additional, unauthorized repairs including axle replacement and demanded an estimated $800 payment to release the vehicle. The customer refused, prompting a review by both the repair warranty provider and the District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators discovered that repair work orders submitted to the warranty company contained forged customer signatures. In an interview, Mr. Abrahim ultimately admitted to forging the documents himself and acknowledged that the customer had not approved the repairs. The investigation also revealed a history of similar complaints on the Better Business Bureau website, against 611 Transmission, including prior allegations of unauthorized work, poor communication with customers and poor business practices.

Mr. Abrahim faces charges of Forgery and the case is now proceeding through the judicial process.

Sarfraz Mohamed Abrahim, like all defendants facing criminal charges, is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
