A 20-mile section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension will be closed early Sunday and Monday between Pocono (exit 95) and Wyoming Valley (exit 115).
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said Interstate 476 is scheduled to be shut down in both directions both mornings between midnight and 5 a.m. for bridge work. If all the work is completed Sunday morning, the Monday closure will not be required.
Northbound motorists should take the following detour:
- I-80 west 16.8 miles
- I-81 north 23.6 miles
- Route 315 north 0.3 miles
- Re-enter at Wyoming Valley Interchange.
Southbound motorists should take this detour:
- Route 315 south 1.4 miles
- I-81 south 23.7 miles
- I-80 east 16.8 miles
- Re-enter at Pocono Interchange.
State police and turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Digital message signs will also provide information on the closure.
