REQUEST FOR BIDS SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL CLEAN-UP Sealed proposals for trash removal services for Smithfield Township’s Spring Clean-up will be accepted by the Smithfield Township Board of Supervisors, 1155 Red Fox Road, East Stroudsburg, PA, 18301; until 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 03, 2024, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded at the regularly scheduled business meeting Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 6:00 p.m. Spring Clean-up Days will be held May 15 through May 18, 2024. All bidders must be haulers licensed by Monroe County. The Township expects to generate approximately 500 cubic yards of municipal waste. Items to be considered in the bid are all containers must be open-top roll off containers with minimum of (20) cubic yards capacity each. Containers must be delivered to Smithfield Township Municipal Building,1155 Red Fox Road on or before May 13, 2024, between 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Price shall be quoted per cubic yard. Enough containers to accept 150 cubic yards is required for the first day of clean-up. Enough containers to accept 200 cubic yards are required for the last day of clean-up. If additional containers are needed, they must be exchanged within 2 hours of notice, including Saturday. All containers must be removed by 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 23, 2024. Scrap Metal will be separated and handled by the Township. Price per cubic yard must include delivery and exchange of containers. Proposals shall be submitted on the bidder’s business letterhead addressed to Smithfield Township Board of Supervisors and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount equal to 10% of the bid price. Bidders shall indicate on the outside of the envelope that contained therein is “Bid for Spring Clean-up.” The successful bidder must furnish a 50% performance bond and a certificate of liability and workers compensation insurance within ten days of award of the contract. Smithfield Township reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any deficiencies or irregularities in any proposal, and to accept the proposal which is in the best interest of the Township. Bidders shall attach to their proposal a list of items that are unacceptable for collection at the municipal clean-up. Jacob A.
